Can I add my own CGI scripts?

Our Windows and UNIX web servers have the capability to run CGI scripts in your own "cgi-bin" directory. Scripts may be written in the languages: Perl for Windows and UNIX and Python for UNIX servers.

Here are some helpful tips to follow when installing scripts:

1. Upload to your cgi-bin directory to ensure proper file permission settings. All scripts on our servers must have permissions set to 750 (rwx-rx---) when your domain name is hosted on a UNIX server, if it is hosted on a Windows server then you do not need to set permissions. If you need help in changing script permissions, please see the following:

2. Upload in ASCII transfer mode (and NOT BINARY mode)

3. The first line of each script must read:

a) #!/usr/bin/perl (for Perl)
b) #!/usr/bin/python (for Python)

4. Using your FTP program ensure the permissions are set to 750 (UNIX Only)
